Now here is a program where you can really get creative and make your own stories. The program allows you to easily take graphic images and turn them into an action-packed, fun-filled comic book story! You can easliy make the adventures of my summer vacation as a superhero in no time. Comic Book Creator provides over 500 page layout templates and a library of graphic images you can select to create your very own comic book. The provided graphic images are from the Massively Multi-Player Online Game RYL: Path of the Emperor, a role playing game from Planetwide Games. You can also use your own graphic images in your comic book as well.
We love this idea so much that we HAVE to try it out.

"The Wall," which debuted this week, lets site visitors choose their canvases -- anything from the back of a bus, to a messenger bag, to a person's upper arm. Then they can use the provided stencils, images, text and colors to create virtual graffiti artwork. Sprite-related imagery like lemons and limes, along with the brand-associated colors like yellow and green, feature prominently in teens' toolkits. While people create their graffiti or look at others' work, Sprite digital spokesperson "Miles Thirst" pops up occasionally to comment. Humm...we wonder if this will get any backlash like the Marc Ecko game. It's almost the same concept. The Marc Ecko game was pushed back until 2006 so that it wouldn't get over shaowed by the launch of the Xbox 360.

We has the chance to sit in on a panel at last weeks Digital Life in NYC. The panel was about the convergence of fashion and technology. And while this might seem like a new trend it's really old hat. In Japan your cellphone defines who you are. But we here in the US have been content for to long with carrying the same ole' plastic generic looking phone and not having any style to ourselves at all. And it seems like only recently have the cell phone makers started trying to get funkier with us with the cellphone designs. We now have all types of colors, sizes, screens, stickers, charms, carrying cases, and wallpapers. And recent stats have shown that kids are more then willing to spend more then $2 on the personalization of their cellphone. It's a trent that many companies are itting up and taking notice to because it's more money then the $.99 download from Itunes. One company was at digital life show how they have molded suede until notebooks and cellphones. They sell a process to companies and the matarials and during the creation of the cellphone the hot plastic and suded bond together. IT looked really hot! So you can just imagine what's going to be coming from the cellphone companies in the future. T-Mobile seems to be the first breaking out of their generic design and offeering limited edition Sidekicks II's. So the future of fashion and technology will be a happy marriage.

We where fishing around the Digital Life Expo this weekend and ran across this interesting remixing tool called the Stik Ax. It's basically a music and video mixer which allows you to record your mix. It's USB controlled and you just drag and drop your video or audio clips to one of the 10 buttons on the controller. While it looks a little hokie it might just be the fun kind of tool that video junkies are looking for to easily VDJ at a party.

Ilounge.com is already out of the box with a photo of a new ad for a new Ipod. The screen is slightly bigger and they have moved the headphone jack to the side. I think this is personally a decoy. Well it's over and Steve Jobs officall announced the Ipod with video playback. The new Itunes 6.0 features 2,000 QVGA formatted FairPlay DRMed music videos which you can pick up for $1.99 apiece, as well as episodes of five ABC series (Lost, Desperate Housewives, Night Stalker, That’s So Raven, The Suite Life). I'm sure Desperate Housewives will be poplular. So how much will movies be? These videos are all short form. Nothing over 22mins. So where does this put the PSP? When will they launch a internet read download service with mpeg4 video to play on it's nice crystal clear screen.

Warner Music Group wants a cut of the cash Google and others would get from selling ads next to search results for its artists. Still sucking more blood this Halloween season Universal Music Group has clashed with Yahoo over compensation for videos and pulled its videos from the site until Yahoo relented. One Universal Music exec estimates revenue from the new agreement to be worth $10 million or more to the company. Warner Music is now trying to extend the concept to the emerging video-search business. While this is all well and good the music industry is in a serious slump and if they keep trying to block the progress of technology they will continue to lose out. If the artist made better music and the record industry went all digital they could save a lot of money and start making money again. Gone are the hey days when labels had money to spend on lavish parties and promotionals. The music industry still has not woken up in this digital age.

Both MTV Networks and BET have signed up to be part of a new fiber optic television network from Verizon. The service, called FiOS TV, will offer programming over super-fast optical connections, part of a big experiment to woo both satellite and cable customers. FiOS, which is so far only available in select markets, will offer a wide range of MTV programming, including LOGO, MTV Desi, and a new high-definition channel called MHD. Additionally, FiOS TV customers will be given access to a long list of on-demand videos, as well as MTV-powered audio channels. Following the deal announcement, FiOS executive Nicole Browning said, "MTV Networks and BET are dedicated to bringing our consumers the content they're passionate about on new platforms as they emerge in the marketplace."

Meanwhile, FiOS is also pushing into the broadband internet category as well. That service, also in a trial phase, offers customers an immense amount of speed. Transmission rates start at 5Mbps according to the company, which easily tops the highest delivery rates of competing cable and DSL plans. That will attract power media users like gamers and music fans, and competitive pricing could make a big market impact. From a broader perspective, the service is part of a much larger push towards super-fast connectivity, which will make rapid delivery of heavy media files more commonplace. For many college students, that reality is already being delivered with the closed internet2 network, which reportedly enables song downloads in a matter of seconds.

European mobile operator O2 will soon incorporate some hip hop into its content deck. The company recently finalized negotiations with AG Interactive and Def Jam Enterprises, a pair that has already linked up to create Def Jam Mobile in the US. As part of the new arrangement, Def Jam content will be layered into the i-mode service from O2 starting October 1st. "The launch of Def Jam Mobile represents more than music," said Russell Simmons, pointing to a broader hip hop content offering. "It represents the entire hip hop lifestyle including games, film, television, video, comedy, sports, fashion and news." Urban-inspired ringtones, games, news, and other related content will be picked up by O2.

As in other forms of media, hip hop content remains ultra-hot in the mobile entertainment sector. "Urban music is the top selling category of mobile content," declared Christian Harris, country manager for AG Interactive UK. That makes the decision an easy one for O2, which will likely feel a bump from such a well-established urban brand. Meanwhile, the group is likely to experiment with emerging forms of mobile content, including over-the-air downloads, streaming videos, and variations on the standard ringtone. AG Interactive is the new media subsidiary of American Greetings Corporation.

Ok so I'm a e-mail list junkie. I sign up for just about every e-mailing list you can think of. I love information! I can't really get enough of it. Well a friend at work told me to try out personal Google. Well Google just keeps doing it! I was first amazed at how easy it was to add my favorite pages/websites that I read daily. Then they have this cool thing when you can easily drag and drop the information modules. So now all the news sites that I ready via e-mail in the morning are all on 1 page with the relevent headers. And I moved the sites I read the most at the top. So it's like I can see EVERYTHING on one page. Google is AMAZING!

And they AMAZE me again! The video played SMOOTHLY! No rebuffering, it was a LARGE window and the audio was good. Now if they only had the first new episode of Desperate Housewives which everyone said totally confused them.

Now this is just 100% brilliant! It's a ubs device and you stick it in your pc/laptop and BAM your watching The Parkers! Wondering if iTunes will ever have videocasts? Wake up, because it already does. Without fanfare or even a word, Apple has started accepting the video-enabled podcasts, apparently in same way as “traditional” audio podcasts. Existing content leans heavily on technology offerings like Digerati University, Video Tutorials for Mac Software, ScreenCastsOnline, Video Tutorials for the Mac and PC, and Systm, which offers “how to technology geared toward geeks”. On the lighter side are Crookz, a Canadian parody on the show Cops, and Diggnation, a homespun “tech/web culture show” from user-activated technology news site digg.com. Mirroring the quiet move to video content, there is no apparent search mechanism for videocasts. A search of podcasts with “video” netted a few videocast results. With a little digging, a couple of more surfaced. Suffice it to say that Apple seems to be toeing the waters without making any big splashes—yet.

According to industry pundit Robert Cringely, video downloads are just around the corner. In a blog from May 5th, Cringely speculates that the move “is dependent on [OS] 10.4 and its H.264 video codec that I believe will be at the heart of an Apple HD video download service…And in 10.4, we can see the first parts of that system coming together, notably Apple's new HD Video Showcase, which routes you right through the iTunes Music Store. Increase the video selection, add prices, and they are done.” But while Apple shuffles its feet on video, broadband connection speed will be an inhibitor. Download time for a thirty-minute show will be significantly more than that of a podcast. Then there’s the viewing issue—right now the videocasts can only be viewed on the computer. That begs the question: Will a video iPod be coming soon? Christmas will be here in a few short months and like Santa says, “Better watch out!”

Early iPod nano Sales Soft, Creative Challenge Looms

Initial sales of the newly-released iPod nano appear to be soft, according to some retail reports. American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu has pointed some disappointing early sales at various Apple retail outlets, though it may be difficult to draw a larger trend so early in the cycle. Specifically, Wu noted that many Apple stores were moving between 200 and 500 units, far below original allocations of between 1,800 and 2,500 units. “We believe iPod nano may cause sticker shock as consumers are not getting more storage for their dollar as they are accustomed to,” Wu asserted. “We may be alone at this point, but we believe matching the super success of the iPod mini may be a tough act for iPod nano to follow without some changes.” Still, other sources report rather heavy demand, at least anecdotally, and the product has only been in the marketplace for less than 10 days. Hard data from Apple has not yet surfaced.

For many portable MP3 consumers, Apple is the only game in town, leaving a long list of competitors off the radar entirely. But one competitor is becoming increasing agitated by Apple, and could pursue legal action. Creative Technologies, a Singaporean company, actually released a device known as the Zen Nano Plus several months ago, though it is unclear just what legal action, if any, will be taken in the coming months. But the company did point to a patent on the portable MP3 player interface, which predated similar filings made by both Apple and Microsoft. That could lead to a patent infringement case in the future, though so far the company indicated that it would be weighing its options. The iPod nano hit stores in the US on September 7th.

Google just keeps doing the damn thing. The mega company has just launched a Beta version of its Blog Search. It's a search engine where you can find blogs on your favorite topics. Now ain't that cool? You can type in any word and it will search every blog that has a site feed (RSS or Atom) and it's not restricted to just Blogger blogs. If your blog pings an updating service, Google should be able to find it and list it among its search results. You're also able to search according, to titles, authors, and languages.

This all seems to really fall in line cause recent repoerts have shown that Blogs are becoming more popular then regular website. What's also interesting is that more Blacks and Latinos are into read blogs on a regular basis. Reports have just shown that Blacks and Latinos use Blogs and IM's in product purching decisions. It's always been a fact that word of mouth is the #1 marketing tool for these communities. And anyway they can get more information from someone they trust rather then a large corporate marketing engine they wil l trust the person's word more.

Steve Jobs announced today at an Apple press event in San Francisco that JK Rowling has signed an exclusive deal to make all six and the to-be-released final Harry Potter audiobooks available for purchase and download on iTunes, effective immediately.

Additionally, a special edition Harry Potter iPod will be made available featuring the Hogwarts school crest, designed by the author. Read all about it and see pictures of the new iPod at Apple's web site.

The news coincided with the release of iTunes 5.0 and an announcement that Madonna has given Apple permission to sell all of her music on the download service.

IDC and SMS.ac surveyed nearly 8,000 US teens (ages 13-18) who use mobile phones. Many US teenagers perceive a cell phone as a social necessity 35.9% of teens acquired their phones mainly to use text messaging while an additional 13.3% acquired them to talk with friends. Cell phone usage drivers differ between teen boys and girls. Girls were more likely than boys to have purchased cell phones in order to call their family or to use in emergency situations, while boys preferred to call their friends. Boys were also more inclined than girls to use text messaging on their cell phones girls, more than boys, preferred talking directly to their friends over text messaging them.

Cingular Spins Exclusive Missy Elliott Ringtones

Cingular Wireless has recently scored a ringtone exclusive with hip-hop hitmaker Missy Elliott. The Atlantic/Warner Music artist will deliver a total of 26 thirty-second tones to Cingular customers, including several major chart-toppers. The collection of "Missy Tones" will be offered for $2.49 each, following price points for other Cingular ringtones. "Warner Music Group is committed to making the mobile space an important place for consumers to connect with our artists," said Michael Nash, SVP of Digital Strategy and Business Development. "With this agreement, Warner Music Group not only extends our great partnership with Cingular, but, for the first time, makes Missy Elliott master ringtones available to her many fans."

The Missy Elliott offering is part of a growing number of mobile music content exclusives. Most recently, rival carrier Verizon Wireless announced an exclusive mobile content deal with John Legend and Shakira, in addition to a ringback deal involving Black Eyed Peas. But Cingular has also been extremely active in the space, recently delivering a Foo Fighters ringtone prior the delivery of the single to radio. Going forward, expect a stream of similar deals, with US carriers aggressively jockeying for music-focused customers and revenues.

Declaring an end to all "wack ringtones," urban-inspired start-up Blingtones recently expanded its deal with rap star Lil Jon. The company, which delivers original hip-hop tones from top producers, will now offer a Lil Jon-inspired golf game to users of Boost Mobile, Cingular, Sprint, and Nextel. Called "Crunk Golf," the game cleverly juxtaposes the calm demeanor of golf with the outrageous and original style of Lil Jon. That is part of a larger deal that calls for the rapper to produce exclusive ringers for Blingtones. The company also has deals with a lineup of other well-known hip-hop producers, including Q-Tip, Rockwilder, Hi-Tek and Doug E. Fresh.

The Blingtones proposition is an innovative one, and offers a big edge over more traditional mobile content offerings. While consumers can usually find chart-topping snippets from a variety of outlets, Blingtones offers one-of-a-kind jingles that can only be purchased from the company. This device is probably gonna cause some problems with the RIAA. It's a MP3 flash based player that lets you share music via wireless. Currently codenamed BeeTune, each model is equipped with infrared and the ability to share music amongst themselves and with other infrared-enabled devices such as mobile phones. Now this all sounds really hot but you know how the RIAA is about that kind of stuff.

It comes in 4 versions, and are currently scheduled for release in the UK and each also featuring an FM radio and voice recorder.

Giant Step and Ki-Bi Partner to Release Mobile Content Card in the US

Giant Step and Ki-Bi today announced a partnership to release Ki-Bi’s mobile content card containing Giant Step related music and promotional opportunities. The card will be used as part of Giant Step’s activities to celebrate its 15-Year anniversary. It will be activated for a 15-week period starting September 5th and will offer ringtones, sweepstakes, music downloads and wallpaper.

The Ki-Bi mobile content card is a physical device and server platform for the retail and distribution of mobile content. To access content from a Ki-Bi card, customers dial the Ki-Bi service (an 800 number), hold their card up to their phone and press the button relating to the content they wish to receive. An acoustic tone is played which triggers the download of content to the phone from the central server.

Ki-Bi was launched in Europe in 2003 and to date has relationships with global leaders in the mobile market such as Ericsson, Orange, O2, MTV, Ericsson, Siemens, Sun Microsystems, Motorola, mForma, and Glu Mobile (formerly Sorrent), Gameloft and others. Ki-Bi was listed publicly in London (LSE:KIB) in May 2005 and raised about $20m at the time of listing. In the US, Ki-Bi is already penetrating the market with a deal with Sun Microsystems and will continue to target content providers.

THe Ipod is really talking over everything. Now we bring you the fully fuctional Ipod DJ board. You can be master of the 1 and 2's and probably DJ for hours with a ton of music stored on the Ipods. The new early prototype device was shown off at the Musikmesse show in Frankfurt by Numark. Very little is known about what features the company aims to include in the final product. Word has it that Numark aims to put out a consumer model in the next couple of months, retailing in the $250-350 range, to be followed with a pro DJ version with pitch control and other goodies required by the pro mobile DJ.

Netflix is getting ready to launch an online movie download service. The service is rumored to include a set top box and storage system simular to a TIVO. They’ve been talking about it for months and mention of a “Netflix Player” turned up the other day. The service is very much like MovieLink and CinemaNow. We'd like to see the movies made available for portable devices like the PSP. Hopefully with the release of the download store and the new PSP 2.o Firmware Netflix will take advantage of the PSP and provide shorts and full length movie for the device.

The G-Unit MP3 Watch, due out in jewelry stores this month, packs 256 or 512 megabytes of memory inside its stainless-steel case. It comes with its own earbud headphones with retractable cords and a power adapter for charging it up between wearings.

The 512-megabyte model can hold up to 16 hours of music, and a version of the watch planned for this fall will double that. The watch has buttons around the edge of the face to control play, fast-forward and rewind, plus an equalizer. A discreet U.S.B. port allows the watch to be connected to a computer for loading music files. Prices start at $486 for the smallest-capacity watch. But compared with the $3,500 model at the top of the G-Unit watch line, which is diamond-coated but MP3-less, they are a lot more practical for that gym workout.

In Sony PSP news, Sony officials have announced the v2.0 firmware software upgrade for the PlayStation Portable that will make web surfing possible. It's also said that the upgrade will feature what Sony calls Portable TV, which allows wireless video transmission to the PSP. Will more PDA-like features be next?
